Site Rating & Mature Content

Hunters RPG  is a mature community for adult writers with a L3/S3/V3 rating - this means there will be mature content somewhere on the forums, which may range from profanity to violent or sexual themes in threads. All registered members must be at least 18 years or older to participate.

Youth-friendly roleplaying forums are available on RPG-Directory.

Mature content must be hidden in a spoiler or must be clearly identified
All threads that contain mature content are required to either

(1) have the adult content hidden in an appropriately titled spoiler with the [ spoiler ] bbcode, or
(2) have a [ R ] or [ M ] tag in their titles, or
(3) be changed into a link marked with a NSFW (Not Safe For Work) label.

Explicit or pornographic images are prohibited.

If you are ever in doubt whether or not the material might be toeing the line, link it instead of using the image tags and label it NSFW. Keep it tasteful, guys.

Player characters (PCs) must be at least 15 years or older
We do not accept any player characters under the age of 15 (including racial equivalents). If you would like to create a non-player character (NPC) at the age of 14 or younger, please contact a staff member and petition your concept or reason.

Though you are permitted to create a 15 or 16 year old character, we do not tolerate them being involved in any scenes that include sexual content.

Sexual content with PCs or NPCs under the age of 17 is not tolerated
Please be aware that although we offer a free license of creativity for our members that we do not tolerate roleplays that involve sexual scenarios involving underage (17 years old or younger) characters whether they are player characters (PCs) or non-player characters (NPCs). Mention of or participation of sexual scenarios may only involve characters 18 years or older, no exceptions.

Mature content is restricted in character applications
When creating a character, please keep graphic details out of character applications - if it is your desire to narrate the full detail of your character's background, you may put such content in a character journal or roleplay so long as they are appropriately managed with [ spoiler ] bbcode or a [ R ] or [ M ] tag.

Registration & Accounts

Registration & Accounts

Please create an OOC account before registering any character accounts.

Your OOC account username can be registered with any name you desire, but we recommend that you only use apostrophes ('), hyphens (-), underscores (_), and alphanumeric (A-Z, 0-9) characters. Other symbols or characters may result in issues with account handling. If you would like to change your usernames at any time, you can private message an administrator.

if you are struggling with the questions on registeringshow spoiler
You will find unique questions designed to assist in preventing spam/bots and generally to make sure you are (probably) human, these are;

- What Genre does Hunters take place in? (2 words)
- What Urban Fantasy Wizard is written by Jim Butcher? (2 words)
- What Urban Fantasy is written by Patricia Briggs? (2 words)
- What Vampire Hunter is written by Laurell K. Hamilton?

If you are struggling with the answers then don't worry;

- urban fantasy
- harry dresden
- mercy thompson
- anita blake

Those are the answers. So, you can just copy & paste them if you want. Any other issues hit up the cbox or message the Staff Team directly for any further help.

Once your OOC account has been created, you will need to post an Introduction. Once your account is set to PLAYER you will be able to make subaccounts.

Subaccounts

Ok, this is really easy. First, click the profile link at the top, should take you to your profile screen.

Now we want to hover over modify profile at the top and find Manage Characters (subbacount). Click that o'course. That'll give you a new screen - find the Create/Link button at the bottom and click that. That'll give you another new screen with a couple input fields in it. The first field should be your character name: if they are already registered, the question mark at the side should turn into a lil yellow ! mark - this is fine if you're linking an existing account that is yours. Otherwise it should turn into a green check mark.

The second two fields are password fields - the account that you're linking will 'inherit' your first email address so no there's no need to input an email address anywhere. Make sure it's the same password twice. If the account already exists, input the password for that account. Then click Create/Link at the bottom of that again and there you go, Sub-Account.

They will display on the member-list in the same row their parent account is in so that it's easy to find who plays who, and will also display in profiles. If you're curious now, you can see how many posts you have altogether across the site without any icky maths. You'll also find there are drop-down selection menus on the posting screens - you can post without actually switching, but if you need to edit a post, you can only do so from the account that posted it. To edit their profile use the main switcher that'll be in the side-bar momentarily to switch to their account and edit their profile and posts made by them - avatar and sig and stuff.

    Have fun!

Behavior

Don't be a Dick.
We're all adults, or wanna-be adults. Play respectfully of other players and they will do the same in return. Take your arguments elsewhere, this place is merely for fun and for a little world bending. If you want to be a dick expect yourself to be kicked off the island.

Y u so Serious?
There are a lot of roleplay sites and this one is not meant to be as serious as just a place to have a little fun. While there is a level of seriousness expected in character, if you as a player start to take things too seriously and find the casualness unsettling, chances are we might not be for you, and that is okay! Jcink makes free forums, knock yourself out.

be Responsible
You are responsible for you. Your behavior, your characters, your plot. Own up to commitments and don't play the blame game. Also, if you have suggestions, or don't like anything, the person most responsible for your happiness is you. Which brings me to..

The doors are open
If you have a problem and are interested in helping to improve the site, or to help fix up a problem, shoot me or any staff member a PM or email. We can't fix what we don't know. We make mistakes too, and chances are we will all be happier working through our problems then cowering over them, or sitting on them and allowing them to fester.

all the shinies!
Unlike most RP sites, the Lore is more community built than Admin approved for a specific feel. A lot of our lore is either made up or directly from the books. In a way, we are also pretty unconventional too. No super hard fast rules means a lot of bending. However, Admin word is Law. Keep this in mind and we will all be happier for it.

DISCORD (Chatbox)

Please do not advertise in DISCORD. If you feel harassed by someone in the DISCORD, ask them to stop or change the subject. If they persist, you may message a staff member. We recommend that conversations in the DISCORD avoid touching on topics such as politics, real-life religions, or racial issues. The DISCORD is not a debate platform. Though profanity is accepted, please avoid being excessively or unnecessarily vulgar. To further clarify, the DISCORD is PG-13 setting.

Plagiarism

We have a zero-tolerance policy on plagiarism; all written work must be original or credited with appropriate approval from the source. We encourage creativity, Hunters' RPG has been built to maximize your artistic freedom, so use your imagination! If there was something you started but now want to explore, do it! If it's something you used elsewhere, say so. You can use your own work so long as we know that it is originally from you. Any written work that is suspected of violating this may be removed or rejected by the staff and can lead to a warning.

Graphics

Please keep all graphics tasteful. Pornography and explicit images are prohibited. Be sure to mark anything that may be questionable as NSFW and post it as a link instead. Please avoid posting obscenely large graphics in both dimensions and size.

If something is too large, you may be asked to remove or resize your content.

There are no coded restrictions, but here are the maximum dimensions we will accept:
    Avatar: 250x350
    Signature: 500x200
    Other: 600x600

In respect of Face Claims, we encourage the use of REAL-LIFE images but you do not have to use a Face Claim at all if you prefer not to do so. Please check here for all current Claims in use, we operate a per character for each face (except in the case of identical twins) and therefore once claimed they cannot be used again. Please also check the reserve list - in this case, you can ask the person who reserved it if that will give up the claim and allow you to make use of that individual.
